About Kings - Tree Surgery & Fencing based on the Isle of Wight

Kings is a family-run tree surgery and fencing business, proudly serving the Isle of Wight. As a local father-and-son team, we’ve built our reputation on honest advice, high-quality workmanship, and a genuine commitment to the Island and its landscapes.

Nick began his career in forestry, conservation, and habitat management, working on a wide range of downland and forestry restoration projects across the Isle of Wight. His experience has shaped a practical, environmentally responsible approach to tree care and land management.

Later moving into tree services in domestic gardens across the Isle Of Wight, with over 25 years in the tree surgery business.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Connor trained with Arbor Venture, gaining his Lantra qualifications before working with established local tree surgeons around the Island. This hands-on experience has helped him develop strong technical skills alongside a professional, customer-focused attitude.

Tree Felling

Our tree felling service safely and efficiently removes unwanted or hazardous trees from properties. This service is preferred when the tree is deemed too unsafe to climb and where there is enough room for the tree to be felled.

Tree Dismantle & Removal

Our tree dismantle & removal service is ideal for trees in a tight area that can not be
felled. This process involves rope and harness to access the canopy, safely
dismantling the tree in sections.

Crown Reduction

Our crown reduction service trims and shapes the tree canopy to improve health and appearance. This is a great solution if your tree has grown too big for your garden.

Crown Thinning

Our crown thinning service selectively removes branches such as rubbing/crossing limbs and dead wood to increase light penetration and air flow, allowing the structure of the crown to remain strong and limitating wind resistance.

Hedge Reductions & Trimming

Our hedge and annual trimming service maintains neat and healthy growth for hedges and shrubs. Reductions also help for overgrown hedges, allowing more light in the garden.

Crown Lifting

Our crown lifting service removes lower branches to increase clearance and light.
This method can help trees over properties or buildings where branches are touching.

I had a tough task for these boys, a huge overgrown conifer hedge that was too much for me to tackle. They did a superb job. They brought it down to a sensible height, shaped it nicely and they've made my garden neat and a nice place to be. They didn't use a series of ridiculously loud tools.
